  • I am based in Oakland, CA. I work out of a private studio accessible by public transit, and wheelchair accessible. I occasionally travel to LA, NYC, and London.

  • I book via booking form and am most reachable by email (meta.morphosis.tatto0o@gmail.com) for questions related to booking, quotes, consultations. Please do not DM me with a request to book!

Please contact me by text if you need to get in touch on the day of your appointment. My number will be in your appointment reminder email.

  • I recommend consultations via phone/video for large scale and multi session projects. I also offer free 15 minute consultations for flash, regardless of size.

I do not provide concept sketches or mockups without a deposit, and charge at my design fee of $50/hour for this.

  • I’ve been tattooing for 4.5 years, and full time for 3.

  • Both!

I began with handpoke, and learned machine 2.5 years ago. I incorporate both application methods into my pieces.

Booking Process

Booking Process *

    • I announce my upcoming dates 1-2 months in advance via instagram and newsletter.

    • I accept booking request via this google form

    • This form stays open and I accept submissions on a rolling basis, however I usually only reply to submissions after the dates for the upcoming booking period are finalized and posted. Any requests received when my books are full will automatically go on my waitlist for the next booking period.

    • I accept waitlist requests for LA, NYC and London, and will email you if I plan to come to your city

    • I tattoo flash, modified flash, and many other experimental and collaborative tattoo session offerings. Please see “tattoo session offerings” page for a detailed breakdown of each type.

    • Choose “Flash or flash modification” if you’re wanting something pre-drawn with minor adjustments; choose “drawing from references/customizing an existing style” if you’re wanting an iteration of something you like on instagram that is not reflected in my current available flash.

    • flash can be found in the “available flash” highlight on my instagram or on my website. There is always more flash available in person than is shown online, and I am usually working on new pieces/sketches that I can show you.

    • Flash is repeatable twice. I do not tattoo the same piece in the same placement. If you’re wanting a version of a retired flash piece, book in for a drawn-in-session appointment “customizing an existing style,” where I can draw something similar for you in the appointment time. My design fee is $50/hour.

    • Deciding on a flash piece at the appointment instead of beforehand is totally fine. Just let me know this in the booking form. Because I only tattoo one piece a day, please indicate and expect to stick within $75 of the budget range that you indicate on the form

    • Small/medium flash =  $50 deposit

    • Medium/large flash and all drawn-in-session appointments (4-7 hours) = $100 deposit

    • Deposits are non refundable, but can be applied to a rescheduled appointment with 72 hours notice.

    • Life is busy! things change and cancelling/rescheduling is no problem, so long as you give me enough notice. I prefer a week’s notice when possible. If you reschedule within 72 hours of your appointment time, I will apply your deposit to your new appointment. Cancelling/rebooking will require a second deposit.

    • Please do not no show me!!! If you’re feeling anxious, on edge about the appointment, or just not in the headspace to be tattooed, that is totally fine! Please just give me as much notice as possible. This is my full time job and I rely on the income from our appointment for my livelihood, just as much as you rely on yours. When you no-show, it has a significant impact on me, and I will not book you again in the future.

    • Please see my “pricing” page with all information about pricing and rates

Session info and experience

*

Session info and experience *

  • I believe that the experience of being tattooed is as important as creating a well executed tattoo. I strive to create a communicative, consent-forward, embodied process.

We will check in at the beginning of the session to discuss your needs, communication and preferred consent style.

    • For flash We’ll chat a bit about your desired flash piece and any modifications required.

    • For drawn in session pieces, we’ll look over references, talk about texture, and make a plan for the process of designing. I’ll list some possible methods and we’ll discuss what makes the most sense for your piece and needs (freehanding using markers on skin; using the ipad to draft a composition, wrapping your placement in saran wrap and creating a sharpie composition which I will then draw in detail).

Once we arrive at a flash piece/custom composition that is feeling good, we’ll discuss tattoo texture/darkness level and look at examples of previous work to make sure we’re on the same page about what the tattoo will look like.

We’ll make a stencil, moving it as many times as needed until we get it right.

I will check in with you throughout the tattooing to make sure you’re hydrating, taking stretch breaks, and continuing to feel good. I will never spring any changes on you without your consent or push you to accept a size or placement you are not comfortable with.

Please communicate with me if you’re feeling dizzy, uncomfortable, needing a break, or needing to tap out and finish the piece at a different day.

  • Life is unpredictable and sometimes being late is inevitable. I prefer a text heads up if you anticipate being more than 5 minutes late. Anything over 15 minutes late will incur a $25 fee.

    • Nerves are totally normal, and so is indecision. A tattoo is permanent, and it makes sense to be a bit jittery or on edge! I welcome you as you are, and understand my role as facilitating a safe, calming, and reassuring space in which to move through these nerves and indecision and arrive at a tattoo that feels 100% right for you. I do this by asking questions, providing reflections/observation, and giving you plenty of time to sit with your stencil without hovering or crowding you. I also see tattooing as a powerful way to harness indecision and lean into trust with yourself, and with me :)

    • This being said, my job is a tattoo artist and not a therapist. If you anticipate your nerves/indecision pushing you towards a state of dysregulation or panic, I highly recommend rescheduling or canceling your appointment. While I can offer you plenty of time in which to decide on your tattoo, my time is not endless, and I do not want the pressure of a time limit to push you into a decision that you’re unhappy with.

  • My space is small and there are often multiple artists working. Please ask before bringing a friend to confirm there will be space for them. I welcome guests as support for decision making, but ask that they not sit with you or watch/film as the tattoo is being done. If you’re wanting accompaniment for the beginning part of the tattoo, your guest is always welcome to drop off/pick up, and there are plenty of cafes and shops in the neighborhood for them to hangout. If you need a guest for accessibility reasons, please let me know and I will be happy to accommodate.

    • Get a good night’s rest!

    • Eat a big meal the morning of your appointment

    • Hydrate in the week leading up to the appointment

    • Exfoliate and moisturize the placement area at least 2 weeks in advance - refrain from exfoliation the day before or day of.

    • Refrain from sun exposure or sunburn. If you show up sunburned we will have to choose a different placement.

    • Do not drink the night before! If you show up hungover i will turn you away, as this highly affects the quality of your skin and my ability to execute the tattoo well

    • Do not show up under the influence of any alcohol or weed. Ideally, no caffeine morning of as this can also impact the quality of your skin

    • Bring anything you need to feel comfortable - loose clothing, headphones, fidget toys, etc.

    • Please do not plan anything immediately after the tattoo, as things can often go longer than expected and rushing is very difficult for both of us!

    • I ask that you respect my time, care, and labor by arriving at the session materially prepared (hydrated, fed, sober, well rested, not sunburned, with cash or digital payment platform downloaded) and energetically/emotionally prepared to communicate your needs and desires.

  • As a client, you always have the right to:

    • A safe and clean procedure.

    • A private area to change your clothing.

    • Breaks when you need them.

    • A clean bathroom.

    • Ask questions and have them answered.

    • Not be touched in anyway that you do not approve.

    • Modesty at your discretion (only the area around your tattoo needs to be exposed, and only to your artist.)

    • Refuse photography, or public sharing of your photo.

    • Have your chosen name and pronouns respected.

    • Freedom from harassment, discrimination, erasure, and intolerance.

Ethos, approach, boundaries

Ethos, approach, boundaries *

    • I’m committed to a trauma informed tattoo practice. To me, this means that I strive to create a communicative, consent-forward, embodied process. I do my best to hold the container of tattooing with an attentiveness to the power implicit in the exchange, and the specificity of the client’s experience and identities. I believe that the experience of being tattooed is as important as creating a well executed tattoo.

    • Tattooing is an act of bodily autonomy and bodily entanglement. Through being marked by another’s visual language, we become tied to that person, their world, and at the same time solidify a sense of groundedness in our own bodies, world, and personhood. I value tattooing as a deeply relational process and am guided by humility, reverence, and curiosity in both my relation to my clients, and to the animate world I draw reference from.

    • I do not work smaller than 2/3 inches and prefer to work bigger unless the piece is quite simple. This gives your tattoo more room to age over time!

    • I do not do line-heavy work on the lower stomach, collarbones, or inner thigh.

    • I do not tattoo throats, faces, elbows, fingers, inner wrists, inner thigh, or hands.

    • When sending me references, please feel free to send me images of my own work for examples of what you’d like to see in your piece.

    • Please do not send me AI references

    • Please do NOT send me images from other tattoo artists.

    • I will not copy any pre-existing artwork that is not in the public domain. As with public domain works, I will not copy them exactly but use them as reference.

    • While I’d love to be able to take on all customized projects, I am limited by my skill and aesthetic tendencies. If I am not excited by the project or do not feel like I’m the best person to execute it, I’m more than happy to point you to artists I think might be a good fit.

  • I welcome your excitement and collaboration in the design process, and ask that you respect me by trusting my creative instincts.

Tattooing requires mutual trust and surrender. I reserve the right to cancel at any time if I feel that my time/effort is being disrespected through excessive micromanagement.

I am an introvert with a social job! I love meeting interesting, wonderful people every day and my social capacity/ability to sustain long conversations in session is growing smaller the longer that I tattoo. I am often quiet while tattooing in order to preserve my energy to execute your tattoo to the best of my ability. I appreciate the value of comfortable silence together!

I reserve the right to cancel our appointment if I feel unsafe, disrespected, or for any other reason.

While I am happy to provide casual, informal tattooing tips or answer some questions, getting tattooed by me is not the time to try and learn from me. If you’re wanting guidance in your own tattooing journey, I recommend signing up for my 1:1 mentorship offering, or one-off “office hours.”

Other FAQ

Other FAQ *

  • I take coverups on a case by case basis, and find that my work is often too soft to conceal heavy black or blown out work. I enjoy blastovers, which conceal but do not totally hide your existing tattoo.

  • I offer tattoo tickets for $25-50 depending on the design, please just email me if you’re interested.

  • I price flash at a flat rate according to an hourly estimate, and i price customized work hourly. My rate is $150-170/hour sliding scale, with a $50/hour design fee. Please only pay at the bottom end of the scale if you are a QTBIPOC without intergenerational wealth or class privilege.

I offer 1 significantly reduced rate tattoo per month for a QTBIPOC individual. This is specifically for people who don’t often see themselves represented in mainstream tattoo culture, folks with darker/melanated skin tones.

  • Touch ups are always free, and totally normal! The way I tattoo is quite light and sometimes ink can fall out or lighten more than expected in the healing process. If you’re not sure if you need a touch up, don’t hesitate to email me pictures and ask.

    • I reply to most forms within 1-7 days.

    • Check your spam!

    • Sometimes I will take a bit longer to reply to you if your desired flash piece is retired, if your budget does not work with your flash piece/drawn in session idea, or if your availability doesn’t align with my dates. I will never totally ignore you, it just might take a bit longer than usual!

  • Deciding on a flash piece at the appointment instead of beforehand is totally fine. Just let me know this in the booking form. Because I only tattoo one piece a day, please indicate and expect to stick within $75 of the budget range that you indicate on the form
